I was pleased to find a book review site that devoted so much time to Octavia Butler’s novels. I read them as a young girl and am re-reading them now as an adult and finding entirely new reasons to admire her and love her work.

I just wanted to point out one error in your review of Lillith’s Brood… you call the Ooloi “sexless” when in fact Butler goes to pains to make it clear they are a “third sex” altogether, neither male nor female, nor are they neuter or sexless.

Hi Kb. Sorry I am not replying until now, but I’ve been traveling. Butler is one of my favorite authors. You are indeed correct that the Ooloi are a third sex. Not sure why I put that there.
